This blog began as a way of writing down all of the recipes, cooking techniques, shopping tips and tricks that my father carries around in his head as well as meals that I’ve enjoyed since childhood. Our main objectives are education, sterilisations, emergency vet care, feeding and rehoming of abandoned cats and dogs.

In the last fifteen years, we have sterilised and helped tens of thousands of animals and although we mostly help stray cats and dogs we also help whenever possible: pelicans, birds, reptiles, ducks, owls, snakes, donkeys and horses.
SAWAs purpose is to protect the island’s animals - ranging from stray dogs and cats to abandoned donkeys and mules, care for their wellbeing and being an advocate of their rights.
